BIRMINGHAM & DISTRICT CHESS LEAGUE

 Memories

This page is for memories and tales of past chess adventures and exploits. Also included are the many wonderful tributes to past players received, which may evoke fond memories of former colleagues.

Chess tales and anecdotes

To start us off here is a tale submitted by Mutual Circle Chess Club that was very apt for that moment in time.

Tributes to Former players

Sadly, the League has lost a number of players in recent years. During the Covid pandemic, a particularly high number of players were sadly lost and these were reported in the news section when the information came to light. Many of these reports can still be found in the News Archive section.

Where a full tribute has been received and published, these have been collated and are listed below. In general, friends and family are very appreciative of tributes published, but if anyone would like any to be unplublished, please contact the webmaster. The following are all in PDF format.
